Delivering Life-Changing
Care in Rural Guatemala

Who We Are
For 50 years, since 1976, HdlF Foundation (HdlFF) has stood alongside Hospital de la Familia (HdlF)—a locally led nonprofit hospital in Nuevo Progreso, San Marcos, Guatemala—to strengthen rural healthcare.
HdlF Foundation organizes visiting surgical teams and volunteers to support the care led by local providers. Through shared expertise, knowledge, and resources, HdlF Foundation helps amplify the life-changing work already happening on the ground, honoring that real change grows where it’s rooted.
Why Rural Guatemala?
In the western highlands, where we serve, communities face structural barriers:

Healthcare shouldn’t be a privilege, yet in rural Guatemala, it too often is.

How We Support
As the heart of healthcare in the region, HdlF staff provide ongoing vital inpatient and outpatient care.
They are joined by our visiting medical teams to collaborate on specialized clinical and surgical services.
Together, we build a respectful learning partnership, transforming lives while ensuring no one is ever turned away.
